I salute you Bob Dole

Last year we were talking about the Armenian genocide by Turkey from 1915-1917. My class was "International Relations in the Middle East" and I had the most liberal professor I've ever had. And he praised Bob Dole ironically, for his attempts during his time in the senate (1987) to pass legislation in the Senate to declare the massacre of the Armenians by Turkey a genocide. Today, the US Foreign Oversight Comittee, in a non-binding resolution properly named that massacre a genocide. It now goes to the full House for a vote. My hats off to you former-Senator Dole.

I'm a proud liberal Democrat. And while I disagree with Dole's politics, I cannot deny the fact that he is a war hero and a man of integrity. To quote the Chief as played by the now dead Lynn Thigpin in Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego: "Bob Dole, I salute you!"

I don't know where my politics are at the moment. My family has been a family of democrats, but at the current moment I like to call myself a centrist leaning left. I too don't agree with Bob Dole's policies but as you have already stated he is a man of integrity and a war hero, and that I can respect.

I loved "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego" I can't believe that guy died!
